Egypt hosted Miss Intercontinental for the seventh time this January, staging the final in Sahl Hasheesh. Tanzania’s Faidah Kassim finished 3rd runner-up at that same competition.
Africa is also expanding its footprint across the international pageant calendar: the Republic of the Congo debuts at both Miss Grand International 2026 in October and Miss Universe 2026 in November, while Malawi and Uganda make their own Miss Universe debuts in Puerto Rico this year.
OnlyPageants will be covering African delegations and results across every major title as the rest of the 2026 season unfolds.
